This medical malpractice case involved an immigrant veterinarian who had his index finger amputated following a cat bite that initially seemed relatively benign. The plaintiff went to a walk in medical clinic where an inappropriate antibiotic was prescribed. Additionally, the medical doctor failed to adequately and timely change course when the plaintiff's condition was worsening. The defendants argued that the plaintiff himself was negligent for not realizing the emergent nature of his condition considering his medical background. The case proceeded to trial, where a jury found the clinic negligent and awarded our client $738,000.
