Denise DesmondDenise Desmond joined Baker, Zimmerman & Perez in 2004, and serves as the firm’s on-staff civil appellate counsel. In addition to her appellate and litigation experience, Denise has also been certified as a family court mediator by the Florida Supreme Court.

After law school, Denise began her career as an Assistant Public Defender before obtaining a clerkship at the Fourth District Court of Appeals with the Honorable George Hersey and after then for the Honorable Robert Gross. After her clerkship ended, she spent the next two years as a Senior Assistant Attorney General doing exclusively criminal appellate work. Denise then moved to the arena of civil appeals as on-staff appellate counsel and litigator for Weissman, Yaffa and Desmond.

Denise is a member of both the Florida and the California bars. In 2004, Denise was also named one of America’s Most Outstanding Lawyers. She has also earned an AV rating from Martindale Hubble, the highest rating for legal ability and ethics, which she still maintains.

Denise received her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida and her law degree from the University of Florida’s College of Law in 1990. She was named to Who’s Who among America’s Law Students and she received the book award in legal drafting.
